We use the Past Simple Tense to talk about actions or situation in the past.

The Adverbs Of Time Used

The adverbs of time used in this tense are Yesterday, last .... , a week ago , this morning, last night, yesterday morning, yester week, yester month ,yester year, etc.

The Pattern Of simple Past Tense

A. Possitive Pattern

S + V2 ......................................... Yesterday

S + kata kerja 2 ......................... Kemarin

Example : Cindy saw a crocodile in the river yesterday

B. Negative Pattern

S + didn't + V1 ............................ Yesterday

S + tidak + kata kerja1 ............. Kemarin

Example : Cindy didn't see a crocodile in the river yesterday

C. Interrogative Pattern

Did + S + V1 ................................ Yesterday ?

Apakah + S + kata kerja 1 ......... Kemarin ?

Example : Did Cindy see a crocodile in the river yesterday ?

Yes, she did / No, she didn't

D. Question - word Pattern

QW + did + S + V1 ....................... Yeserday ?

QW + yang + S + kata kerja 1 ...... Kemarin ?

Example : What did Cindy see in the river yesterday ? A crocodile
